Nel'kan
In 1897-1898, six Doukhobor elders from the Caucasus – the brothers of Doukhobor leader Peter Vasil’evich Verigin – were administratively exiled to the remote town of Nel’kan (Нелькан) on the Maya River in the Oymyakon district of Yakutsk province (present-day Sakha-Yakutia Republic), Russia. They remained there until 1899, when they were permitted to join their brethren exiled in the Amga district of the province. [64° 15' 0" N - 142° 58' 0" E]
