jonathan kalmakoff

Jonathan J. Kalmakoff is a Regina, Saskatchewan-based independent researcher and writer. Over the past twenty-five years, he has become a leading authority on Doukhobor heritage and has endeavored to promote a better understanding of the history, culture and beliefs of the Doukhobor people through: the publication of numerous books and articles, public presentations and video documentaries; organization of historical tours; field research and oral interviews with Doukhobor elders; the development of this website; government applications for official heritage designations and geographic name designations of Doukhobor sites; and through activism to ensure the accurate, fair and truthful depiction of Doukhobors in the media.
